Welcome to "witnessforchrist.ca". This website aims to serve as a witness for Christ, to proclaim the Gospel, so that the
plain truth of the Word of God is made known to people all over the world to lead them to salvation.
Dictionary defines a "Witness"
as "an individual who, being present, personally sees or perceives a thing".
It is very important that a witness is faithful
to reveal the truth as it is, and does not hide or alter the truth in any way.
In Acts chapter 4 we see that Peter and John are
arrested by the temple priests and Sadducees and called to explain how they healed the man who was lame by birth and begged daily
at the gate of the temple. Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, boldly proclaimed that it had been done it in the name of Lord
Jesus Christ, whom they had crucified.
Evidence was on hand, and there was no way to deny the miracle done to the lame man. So
to stop the news from spreading any further and fearing that more and more people will believe in the name of Lord Jesus, Sadducees
threatened Peter and John to not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.
And what do Peter and John do? They answered
and said to them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than God, you judge, for we cannot but speak the
things which we have seen and heard”. Acts 4:19-20.
Here are two faithful witnesses. They must be thinking, “How can we not speak
of the things we have seen and heard”? They were first-hand witnesses; they had lived and walked with Jesus, and seen all that he
had done, His compassion, His mercy, His Lordship. How can they keep it all in wraps and betray Jesus? No! they had to proclaim the
good news. The truth was far more valuable than the petty threats of these temple priests.
In Acts chapter 5, verses 29 to 32
apostles confirm their allegiance to “obey God rather than men”. They say that “we are His witnesses to these things and so also is
the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him”.
Ever thought what would have happened if Jesus’ disciples and apostles
had kept quiet for fear of the threats of the Sadducees? If these witnesses had not been faithful to the truth, probably we would
have never heard about the good news of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.
This is the story of the faithfulness of the
apostles. What is our story? Where are we in our witness to the world about what God has done in our life? It is my prayer that like
a city set upon a hill; we will let the light of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ shine brightly through us to show the way to
Salvation to people who are in darkness.
May the Lord bless us all!
